Who We Are

The  Arts Society Berlin e.V.  is a Member Society of the Arts Society in London, one of the UK's leading voluntary arts education bodies.

The Arts Society Berlin was founded in February 1996, originally known as the British Decorative and Fine Arts Society Berlin, with the aim of promoting the appreciation and study of the fine arts in their widest sense and to stimulate a greater awareness of our international cultural heritage.

Our lecture season starts in January and ends in November, including eight lectures illustrated by  digital projection and often music. All lectures are given in English by experts from the UK. They cover a wide and varied range of subjects such as art, architecture, furniture, silver, china etc. as well as literature and music.

Visits to local museums and places of historical interest and outings in the vicinity of Berlin are also offered and listed on our website.

The Arts Society Berlin meets at

The All Saints Church in Dahlem

normally on the last Monday of the month. The lectures begin promptly at 8 p.m. Doors open for the sale of wine and soft drinks from 7.30 p.m. After the lecture we cordially invite you to stay for wine and snacks. For any changes of time and place of a lecture please see Society News.

As The Arts Society Berlin is registered as a charity, a donation certificate is obtainable for the membership fee and any other donations.

The annual subscription fee is € 75 per person. Non-members are always welcome, the non-member fee is € 10 per person and lecture. We offer a 50% reduction for students.

In order to stabilise the financial future of our society we introduced a new category of membership. You can choose to be a Sustaining Member for € 100 per year - this will help to pay for the ever increasing costs for speakers and their travel costs from the UK, and also entitle you to priority booking for our special events and visits to local attractions.
